She is the founder and owner of The Art Place Studio, a thriving creative space she has operated for over 15 years. The studio offers a wide range of hands-on experiences including paint-your-own pottery, pottery wheel classes, hand-building, fused glass, stained glass, and workshops designed to make art accessible to all ages and skill levels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn addition to her studio, Vanessa is the creator of Teaching Clay, a subscription-based educational platform she has led for the past four years. Teaching Clay supports studio owners, K–12 educators, and clay instructors by providing step-by-step resources, curriculum development, and proven strategies to confidently teach clay and expand their programs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVanessa is also the founder of 843Clay, a growing community that connects and supports Lowcountry clay artists.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA passionate advocate for ceramics education, Vanessa has taught wheel throwing at \u003cspan\u003eMayco Pottery Camp\u003c\/span\u003e in both 2025 and 2026, and has presented at the \u003cspan\u003eCCSA National Convention\u003c\/span\u003e.
